Termite Inspection and Control
Termites eat wood, and can consequently cause great structural damage
to your home if left unchecked. A typical homeowner's insurance policy does not cover destruction caused by termites,
even though they cause over 1 billion dollars in damage to homes throughout the United States each year. Our inspection and
treatment program can help you understand the threat of termites, and take the necessary steps to protect your home.
Termite Inspection
You can’t assume your home is termite-free just because you’ve never seen
them – they only swarm once or twice a year, and you might miss it! We thoroughly inspect your home or business,
looking for the tell-tale signs of termite infestation. Some of the things we look for are:
- Mud tubes built for traveling above ground
- Damaged or hollow-sounding wood
- Pinholes in drywall
or wallpaper
- Small piles of sawdust
- Piles of small wings
- Other
specific termite indicators
In addition, we offer Real Estate
transfer termite inspections.
Termite Facts
Subterranean termites are extremely destructive.
First they build tunnels to wooden structures, and then they burrow into those structures to obtain food. Any wood or cellulose-containing
material constitutes termite food, and given time to do so, they’ll eat until nothing is left but a shell. Termites
avoid light and air, so they build their colonies where you’re not likely to stumble upon them.
Is it
a termite or an ant?
On the off chance you do see them, remember that it’s easy to confuse termites with ants.
Fortunately, there are features that distinguish them.

Termite Treatments
To control these unwanted
pests, we provide an effective treatment plan, which may include:
- Liquid Protection - a continuous chemical barrier is created around the exterior of your home or building to keep
termites from entering. This involves direct contact - as possible, we apply chemicals directly to the pests OR
- Bait Protection - Insect Growth Regulator- we use the Sentricon Termite Colony
Elimination System® which uses the termites natural foraging habits against the colony to disrupt their growth and development
causing total colony elimination – www.sentricon.com
Liquid
Protection features Termidor ® technology
Advanced undetectable technology
Termidor
is made from a revolutionary new nonrepellent or "undetectable" chemical technology treatment. That means termites
cannot see, smell, taste or avoid Termidor. Instead they contact, ingest, and share it with their nestmates. This is in sharp
contrast to older liquid termite controls, which rely on repellent barriers that termites can finds breaks in or avoid completely.
HOW TERMIDOR PROTECTS YOUR HOME FROM TERMITES
After Termidor is applied, termites that
contact it transfer it to every other termite they in turn contact in a unique process called the "Transfer Effect."
And because Termidor is engineered to be slow-acting, termites have ample time to spread it throughout their entire termite
population.
Better than bait... without the wait
Baits can take years to control a termite
colony. Termidor begins working immediately to wipe out termites inside and immediately surrounding your home. Termidor is
the most effective and fastest at completely eliminating termite populations — up to six-times faster than bait systems.
No better choice for protecting your home against termites.
Termidor is the only termite defense
that combines a unique mode of action, a long residual, and the ability to manage colonies faster than a baiting system all
in a low-dose, low-odor formulation that meets the stringent standards of the Food Quality Protection Act. There simply is
no better choice for termite defense.. www.termidorhome.com
Bait Protection features the Sentricon® Colony Elimination System
Use this risk calculator to find out your likeliness for termites http://www.dowagro.com/sentricon/us/mission/risk.htm
The Sentricon System, the first and most successful termite baiting system, has been proven to eliminate termite
colonies by independent research at 30 universities, reported in 45 published scientific articles, and by the U.S. Department
of Agriculture. It uses only a few grams of active ingredient in a cellulose matrix that termites love to eat. This Recruit™
termite bait is placed strategically in in-ground Sentricon stations in areas where termites are or may be active. Termites
feed on the Recruit termite bait and share it with nestmates until the colony dies. The Sentricon System requires no drilling
in floors or foundations, no digging or trenching and no gallons of chemical solution injected in the soil.
TERMITE TRACKING GOES HIGH-TECH.
Part of the success of the Sentricon® Termite Colony Elimination
System comes from its unique monitoring technology. Authorized Operators use state-of-the-art hand-held computers and software
to create a reliable service record for the Sentricon stations around your home. These tools help make sure every Sentricon
station is accurately monitored on every visit.
Did you know?
The Sentricon System is the
only termite treatment option with electronic monitoring technology.

With the Sentricon System with ESP™ technology, the Authorized
Operator sweeps an electronic scanning unit over in-ground Sentricon stations. Electronic transensors inside the Sentricon
stations transmit station information directly into the hand-held computer. If termite activity is detected, the Authorized
Operator opens and inspects the Sentricon station, verifies activity, inserts a Baitube™ device containing Recruit termite
bait and records this activity.
HOW TO ELIMINATE A TERMITE COLONY.
Once you have the
Sentricon® Termite Colony Elimination System, you can relax. It starts protecting homes just as soon as it's installed,
using an ongoing cycle of monitoring and baiting. Here's how the process works to eliminate termite colonies:
As part of the service contract, the Authorized Operator…
Makes sense.
The
beauty of the Sentricon System is that the Recruit termite bait works just slowly enough to be spread throughout the colony
before termites catch on.

…inspects the property for signs of termites;
…places Sentricon stations flush with the ground in the
soil around the home;
…monitors the Sentricon stations for termite activity;
…delivers a Baitube™ device containing Recruit™
termite bait to these termites, which they share until the colony is eliminated;
…and continues monitoring to discover newly invading colonies.
A new colony may invade and show up in Sentricon stations long after the initial colony has been eliminated.
That’s
what’s so great about the Sentricon System. It’s equally successful at stopping a colony that is attacking a home
and at stopping a colony that may attack a home. Treatment and prevention. In fact, homeowners with no known termite problems
have the Sentricon System installed solely to make sure it stays that way. Your home may have a security system to alert you
to a human break-in. Why not one to alert you to a termite break-in?
